Responsibilities

  • Teach Science according to the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level curriculum
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, hands-on lessons that develop conceptual understanding through experiments, demonstrations, and inquiry-based activities
  • Use diverse teaching strategies, including problem-solving, collaborative projects, digital simulations, and real-world applications
  • Differentiate lessons for students with varying English levels and scientific backgrounds
  • Assess, record, and report on students’ progress using formative and summative methods
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Prepare classroom materials, maintain well-organised labs and science displays, and ensure safety protocols
  • Establish consistent behaviour expectations aligned with school policy
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and leadership
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding academic progress
  • Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, school events, and PD sessions
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, outings, and school initiatives

Requirements

  • Degree in Science or a related field (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or equivalent)
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Eligibility or willingness to obtain a Cyprus work permit./Kysats qualification accreditation
  • Proven school teaching experience/ teaching Cambridge IGCSE and/or A Level Science (essential)
  • Strong understanding of exam preparation strategies
  • Experience with project-based and inquiry-based learning approaches
  • Ability to teach multilingual learners effectively

Working Conditions

  • Official employment in accordance with Cyprus employment legislation
  • 5-day working week, Monday to Friday, from 07:45 to 16:00
