Lead Python Developer

Responsibilities

  • Design architecture and develop backend services for managing data storage and processing infrastructure
  • Take ownership of the technical quality of the area, including code reviews, development standards, testing, and documentation
  • Build and develop a team of Python developers: participate in hiring, mentor team members, allocate and decompose tasks
  • Integrate internal and external systems within the platform and design APIs (REST/gRPC)
  • Develop custom tools for managing data flows and automating infrastructure processes
  • Collaborate with DevOps to establish CI/CD, deployment, and service observability (metrics, logs, alerting)
  • Participate in technical planning, estimate timelines and risks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial Python development experience, including 1–2+ years as a Team Lead, Tech Lead, or Lead Developer
  • Experience designing and developing high-load distributed services
  • Deep knowledge of SQL and experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.), including an understanding of their internals and optimization
  • Strong experience with UNIX systems and command-line tools
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes: building images, writing manifests/Helm charts, and deploying services
  • Experience establishing testing practices (unit and integration tests) and a code review culture
  • Understanding of observability principles: metrics, logs, and tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools)
  • Experience with CI/CD (GitLab CI/CD)
  • Experience with Terraform and Ansible and the Infrastructure as Code approach
  • Experience with message queues and data streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
  • Experience with secrets management (Vault, Sealed Secrets, External Secrets)
  • Experience developing in Java or Go
